Speaking of strange Los Angeles architecture, I drew the building above while waiting for my husband to come out of a nearby store. The front of the building is like a set - held up by a concrete wedge of sorts. There's nothing behind it. I can't imagine who thought this would add class to the edifice. See it in Pasadena.
The plant below, however is genuine.
